Welcome to Edinburgh's spookiest book club! This month, we'll be discussing: ''The House on the Borderland'' by William Hope Hodgson.

A manuscript is found. Filled with small, precise writing and smelling of pit-water, it tells the story of an old recluse and his strange home – and it’s even stranger, jade-green double, seen by that old man on an otherworldly plain where gigantic gods and monsters roam.

Soon his earthly abode is no less terrible than this strange vision, as swine-like creatures boil from a cavern beneath the ground and besiege it. But a still greater horror will face the recluse, one more awful than any creature that can be fought or killed.

How long does each book club last?

Each book club is an hour and a half, ending around 8.30pm.

Does the discount have to be used against the book club title?

No! If it's a book you already own, you can use your discount on any other book in the shop. Simply pop in with your proof of purchase and we can sort that for you.

Do I have to finish reading the book before coming along?

Ideally, but no! If you can't, or don't want to, finish the book, we still want to hear your thoughts. We will however spoil every aspect of the book during discussion.
